• We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time COOK positions.
• Location: HSHS St Mary's Hospital Decatur - 1800 East Lake Shore Drive, Decatur, IL 62521. Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full-time and part-time shifts, including 10:30 am to 7:00 pm and 6:00 am to 2:30 pm; days may vary. More details provided during interview.
• Requirement: Previous culinary experience is required; healthcare experience is a plus.
• Pay Range: $16.00 to $16.50 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Prepares food according to federal, state, and corporate standards, ensuring quality and safety at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare high-quality food items following standardized recipes and instructions to meet schedules.
• Serve meals using correct portioning, ensuring food is at the proper temperature, attractive, and tasty. Taste all prepared food items.
• Use established procedures during service and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and storage areas, following safe food-handling procedures.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment properly.
• Assist with production planning, record keeping, and ordering supplies.
• Report maintenance issues or accidents immediately.
• Attend safety and in-service meetings.
• Maintain good working relationships with team members and supervisors.
• Follow HACCP standards for presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures.
• Adhere to all safety policies, including proper use of gloves, oven mitts, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques.
