Job Title: Cook

We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time COOK positions at Transylvania University, located at 300 North Broadway, Lexington, KY 40508. Online applications are accepted only.

Job Summary:

Prepares food according to standards, ensuring quality and safety. Maintains cleanliness and safety in the kitchen, assists with inventory and ordering, and follows all safety protocols including HACCP standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Prepares high-quality food items according to recipes and schedules.
2. Serves meals or prepares for delivery, ensuring proper portioning, temperature, and presentation.
3. Uses ticket procedures during service and maintains records.
4. Maintains cleanliness of kitchen and storage areas.
5. Operates and maintains kitchen equipment.
6. Assists with production planning, record keeping, and ordering.
7. Reports maintenance issues promptly.
8. Participates in safety and in-service meetings.
9. Maintains good working relationships with staff and customers.
10. Performs other duties as assigned, following safety and hygiene standards.

Safety and Policies:

• Uses appropriate protective gear when handling equipment and hot items.
• Wears slip-resistant shoes and uses proper lifting techniques.
• Follows all company policies and procedures.
