Position rate $15.80 per hour

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Maintains clean, sanitary work areas. Greets clients and visitors, serves meals, or provides directions or assistance as required. Prepares, seasons, and cooks food; carves and portions meat, fish, or poultry for individual servings. Plans menus for clients, visitors, and staff; determines food orders, estimates quantities, and plans for leftovers. Trains and monitors clients assigned to kitchen duties.

EDUCATION

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Successful completion of sanitation course and certification by Louisville Metro Health Department within the first six months of employment

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum one year of food service experience in a commercial or healthcare facility
• Knowledge of basic kitchen equipment for safe use and sanitation
• Ability to read, follow, and interpret written and oral instructions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting or carrying of objects up to 25 pounds
• Involves bending, stooping, standing, and safe operation of equipment
• Exposure to moderate heat, cold, moisture, and air pollution
• May involve exposure to light chemicals such as cleaning solutions
• May require 24-hour on-call responsibilities
