Job summary

White Birch Communities is seeking a kitchen assistant to help plan and prepare homestyle meals for elderly residents in a supervised setting. A basic ability to cook and follow a recipe is required, with attention to dietary needs.

The role emphasizes meal quality and resident wellbeing, with duties including keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean and in compliance with inspections. Weekend work and some holidays may be required.

• Meals are an important part of an elderly person's day, not only for nutrition, but for quality of life. They shall be prepared while keeping these points in mind.
• Keeps kitchen and dining area clean and in compliance with all inspections.
• Cooking cleaning and dishwashing are apart of all kitchen positions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Cooking experience and the ability to follow a recipe are required.
• Applicants must be willing to work every other weekend and some holidays.

Benefits and Perks

A full benefits package is included with full-time employment. Benefits include health and dental insurance, paid vacation time and holiday pay after one year as well as a retirement plan. Experienced candidates may start up to $15 per hour.
