Job Summary

We are hiring immediately for full‑time Cook positions at CHS East Georgia, 1499 Fair Road, Statesboro, GA 30458. Online applications only.

Schedule: Full time; open availability preferred. Days and hours may vary. Details discussed during interview.

Fixed pay rate: $15.00 per hour.

Role requires previous cooking experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare high‑quality food items according to standardized recipes, instructions, production, delivery and service schedules.
• Serve meals or prepare for delivery using correct portioning, meeting standards, ensuring correct temperature and attractiveness. Taste all prepared food items.
• Use established ticket collection procedures during service; maintain records from area worked during service periods.
• Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high cleanliness standards; store or discard excess food per safe food‑handling procedures.
• Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat; store food and supplies per standards.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assist in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
• Assist in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required.
• Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Attend in‑service and safety meetings.
• Maintain good relationships with co‑workers, customers, administrators and managers.
• Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
• Commit to personal safety and that of others.
• Abide by all company policies and procedures, including:
• Use of medium weight cut gloves when handling knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning slicer.
• Use of oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steamtables.
• Use of slip‑resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
