Job Information

• Position: Cook (Full‑time)
• Location: Lebonheur Children's Hospital, 848 Adams Avenue, Memphis, TN 38103 (online applications only)
• Schedule: Full‑time, days/hours may vary, including weekends and holidays
• Requirement: Previous cooking experience preferred
• Pay Range: $15.00–$18.00 per hour

Job Summary

Prepares food in accordance with federal, state, and corporate standards, ensuring quality, safety, and timely service for patients, caregivers, and the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare high‑quality food items according to standardized recipes and specifications.
• Serve meals or prepare for delivery, ensuring correct portioning, temperature, and presentation; taste all prepared food items.
• Use ticket‑collection procedures during service; maintain accurate service records.
• Maintain a clean and safe kitchen; store or discard excess food per safe‑food handling procedures.
• Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized; ensure proper storage of food and supplies.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting.
• Assist in ordering and receiving food and supplies.
• Report maintenance issues, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Attend in‑service and safety meetings.
• Maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
• Follow HACCP standards and ensure proper presentation, portion control, and temperature maintenance.
• Commit to personal and team safety.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including glove use, oven mitts, slip‑resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques.
