Summary

Women's & Babies Hospital is seeking an experienced Cook to join our Food Services team. In this role, you will prepare high-quality meals according to standardized recipes, including vegetables, entrées, breakfast items, sandwiches, and soups. You will help ensure food quality, safety, and sanitation standards are maintained while supporting daily food production and patient meal service operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of menu items including vegetables, entrées, breakfast foods, sandwiches, soups, and roasted, baked, broiled, or fried items.
• Follow standardized recipes with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
• Monitor food quality, taste, texture, appearance, and temperature throughout preparation and service.
• Set up and maintain tray line stations, including entrée, vegetable, and soup stations.
• Assist with slicing meats and cheeses and portioning food items.
• Help direct food production activities in the absence of the chef.
• Train and support new staff members as needed.
• Maintain inventory levels, place orders, and verify vendor invoices.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and HACCP procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
• Report equipment issues promptly to the maintenance team.

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years of hot food production cooking experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of cold food preparation experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of volume cooking experience.

Preferred

• Culinary School diploma.
• 2 or more years of large-volume food production experience.
• Experience training and directing staff.
