Job description

Full‑time Cook – Stetson University

Location: 421 North Woodland Boulevard, DeLand, FL 32723. This position is onsite at the Stetson University campus.

Position: Full‑time Cook. Full‑time schedule with days and hours varying. Weekend availability required. AM and PM shifts. Details discussed during interview.

Pay: $16.00 to $17.00 per hour.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Prepare high‑quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery, and service schedules.
• Serve meals or prepare for delivery using correct portioning, ensuring food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty.
• Taste all prepared food items.
• Use established ticket collection procedures during service.
• Record work during service periods.
• Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food‑handling procedures.
• Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat and store food and supply items per standards.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required.
• Assist in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as needed.
• Report maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to supervisor immediately.
• Attend in‑service and safety meetings.
• Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
• Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
• Commit to personal safety and that of others.
• Abide by all company policies and procedures, including glove use, oven mitts, slip‑resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques.
