- Position: Cook (Full Time, Hiring Immediately)
- Location: CHOA – 1575 Northeast Expressway, Brookhaven, GA 30329
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 3:00 pm
- Pay Range: $20.00–$23.00 per hour
- Internal Employee Referral Bonus Available
Responsibilities
- Prepare high‑quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
- Serve meals or prepare for delivery using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty. Taste all prepared food items.
- Use established ticket collection procedures during service and maintain records from area worked.
- Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness; store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food‑handling procedures.
- Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat; ensure food and supply items are stored per standards.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
- Assist in production planning, record‑keeping and reporting as required.
- Assist in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required.
- Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to supervisor immediately.
- Attend in‑service and safety meetings.
- Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers.
- Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
- Personal commitment to safety for self and others.
- Abide by all company policies and procedures, including:
- Use of medium‑weight cut gloves when handling knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer.
- Use of oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steamtables.
- Use of slip‑resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen experience preferred.
- Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be available to work the assigned schedule.
