Cook (Full & Part-Time) | Certified & Non Certified

We have an immediate opening for a Full-Time Cook during various shifts at Shawneespring Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Harrison, OH.

Responsibilities include preparing meals by weighing, measuring, mixing ingredients, cooking, checking freshness, and garnishing dishes. You will also ensure the kitchen and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained.

Qualifications include experience with hot and cold food preparation. Culinary school education is preferred; prior related experience is advantageous.

Pay Rate: $13.75 to $16.50 (Non-Certified), $16 to $23 (Certified)

Responsibilities
  • Preparing meals for residents, guests, and staff.
  • Measuring, mixing, and prepping ingredients according to recipes.
  • Cooking meats, fish, vegetables via steaming, grilling, boiling, baking, or frying.
  • Checking ingredients for freshness.
  • Garnishing and plating dishes.
  • Working efficiently under pressure.
  • Cleaning kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Assisting and inspiring the kitchen team with the Executive Chef.
  • Ensuring meals meet nutritional and clinical requirements.
  • Maintaining logs of kitchen temperatures and cleanliness.
  • Performing additional duties to support the community's quality of care.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in food service and preparation.
  • Proficiency with kitchen equipment like slicers, mixers, grinders.
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards and health codes.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability for shifts, holidays, and weekends.
