Job summary

Nye Health Services in Nebraska is seeking a dependable Cook to join our caring team and prepare meals that bring comfort to residents. This full-time position offers 35–40 hours per week, with a 10:00am-6:00pm schedule, varying weekdays, and every other weekend.

You will follow standardized recipes, ensure meals meet dietary needs and safety standards, and work closely with dietary staff to support resident wellbeing and satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a cook preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (ServSafe certification is a plus).
  • Ability to follow recipes, portion control guidelines, and dietary restrictions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Accommodate special dietary requests and modify meals as necessary for residents with specific needs.
  • Participate in training, staff meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
