Carleton-Willard Village is a retirement community located in Bedford, MA. Services include supportive care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and memory care all in a village-type setting. Our 72-acre sanctuary of pristine woods, meadows, walking paths, and gardens is just north of Boston.

FT 11am - 7:30pm

(Weekend Required)

Position Summary

Assists the Head Chef, Sous Chefs, and Cooks in the preparation of meals and nourishments as scheduled.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Peels, chops, weighs, and portions food as directed by Head Chef, Sous Chef or Cook on duty.
  • Sets up steamtable, arranging hot food, dishes, etc. as needed for Tray Service, Ross-Worthen and Upstairs Abbott and satellite kitchen.
  • Assures that cold foods are properly refrigerated and arranged for use as needed.
  • Fills out proper temperature logs for each area.
  • Distributes hot and cold food to Waitstaff during mealtime to serve to Residents using the proper portion size as determined by the Head Chef and dietician.
  • Assures that food is appropriately presented on plate as it is being served.
  • Checks and stocks Abbott salad bar at 6:00 p.m.
  • Cleans and sanitizes steamtable and cold prep area after use and restocks for the next meal; maintains a high level of sanitation in all work areas.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School degree or equivalent.
