Job summary

Electra Hospital District is seeking a dedicated hospital food service worker in Electra, TX. You will prepare meals, serve and deliver trays to patients, and help maintain a clean kitchen in compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities include following sanitation procedures, monitoring pantry stock, and communicating any supply needs to the Dietary Director. A high school diploma and food handler’s card are preferred; one year of institutional food prep is desirable.

  • Knowledge of cooking and food handling procedures.

Prepares nutritional food for hospital patients, employees, ad visitors. Suggests menu items and assists in the requisition of food and supplies. Operate and maintain kitchen equipment.SCHEDULE:Rotating Weekends40 Hours per Week10:30AM to 7:00PMESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide food service operation.Properly prepare, serve, and store food in accordance with accredited agencies and department policies and procedures.Clean and inspect equipment, kitchen appliances and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation at the end of each shift.Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, quality standards, and appropriate regulatory requirements.Handle all equipment in a safe manner to prevent accidents and demonstrate good working knowledge of equipment and their safe use.Deliver meals and food trays to patients according to schedule established by the department.Understand and apply the sanitation procedures needed to provide a safe and healthy environment.Monitor pantry stock and inform Dietary Director of items running low and in need or re-ordering.Knowledge of cooking procedures.OTHER SIGNIFICANT REQUIREMENTS:Work well with other employees.Maintain confidentiality on a daily basis.Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.WHY EHD?PEOPLE FIRSTOur staff is our most valued asset. Some bending, stooping, and reaching for food items and equipment. Pushing and pulling of food carts and lifting up to 30 pounds. The ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions and directions.
