Job summary

Careage is seeking a Full-Time Cook at Patriots Glen in Bellevue, WA to prepare fresh, nutritious meals for residents. You will follow daily menus, ensure safety and sanitation, and work Monday–Friday from 5:30am to 2:00pm.

Washington State Food Handler’s Permit is required (can be obtained after hire) with CPR/First Aid. Pay ranges from $23 to $26 per hour DOE, and benefits include health, dental, vision, life, 401k, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Washington State Food Handler’s Permit required.
• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
• Must be in good health and physically/mentally capable.
• At least 1 year of experience in a food service setting.
• Ability to follow recipes and read instructions.
• Must communicate in English.
• Location: Bellevue, WA.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of fresh meals based on daily menus and the dietary needs of residents.
• Interact with residents on a daily basis to ascertain their views, suggestions and concerns on meals served at the direction of Food Service Director.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized and fully stocked.
• Properly store, label and rotate food to maintain quality and safety standards
• Maintain and record proper temperature controls, food storage and food rotation.
• Adhere to safety and sanitary practices.
• Support teammates to keep the kitchen running effective and positively.
• Take pride in every plate that is sent out to ensure mealtime is a highlight for residents.

• Obtain and maintain a Washington State Food Handler’s Permit.
• Must be dependable
• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
• Must be in good health and physically/mentally capable of performing assigned tasks
• Must possess knowledge of safe sanitation practices, safety practices and special diets
• Must be able to work in Bellevue, WA
• At least 1 year of experience working in a food service setting.
• Ability to follow recipes, read instructions and communicate in English
• Have a willingness to learn and a positive attitude working with a team.
