Job Description

  1. Prepare food according to instructions and follow proper food handling techniques.
  2. Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and secure working area.
  3. Set up service/preparation areas as assigned; clean and replenish the service/preparation area during and after service.
  4. Provide high-quality service to customers; assist in meeting the department’s customer service objectives.
  5. Direct, help train, and assist Snack Bar Attendant, FSW II, FSW I, and student employees in food preparation.
  6. Help the department constantly improve and reach its vision (commitment to excellence and passion for people).
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Shift: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Tuesday - Saturday

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum education requirement: completion of eighth grade or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
  • Knowledge and demonstration of food preparation, including knife skills, and equipment, service and sanitation methods.
  • Pass a culinary skills demonstration as part of the interview process.
  • Customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
  • ServSafe certification desirable or able to be acquired within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience in food preparation and service in an institutional or commercial setting.
  • Ability to handle and lift up to 40 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications: ServSafe Certification (required or to be earned within six months of hire).

Salary Range: $16.14 - $19.69
