Job summary

Cal-Am Properties, Inc. is seeking an experienced cook to prepare and direct food service in our kitchen, ensuring compliance with sanitation and health standards. You will follow established production programs and work a 5-day schedule from 11:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook.
• AZ Food Handler’s license within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to work 5 days per week, 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Prepares or directs preparation of food using established procedures.
• Determines quantity and type of food based on daily specials and menu items.
• Coordinates with Restaurant Manager to ensure supplies and substitutions are available in time for preparation.
• Sets steam table and serves or ensures proper serving of food in the dining room.
• Complies with sanitation and personal hygiene standards.
• Stores food properly and safely, marking date and item.
• Reports equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor.
• Prepares all food following recipes and diet orders.
• Plans food production to align with serving hours for quality, temperature and appearance.
• Apportions food for serving.
• Keeps work area clean; cleans equipment after use.
• Performs temperature checks before service.
• Uses leftovers for weekend specials to reduce spoilage.
• Cleans and sanitizes kitchen and utensils after shift.
