Job summary

Evergreen Recovery Centers is hiring a Cook for our Rainwood inpatient program in Everett, WA. You will oversee kitchen operations and prepare meals for up to 24 women in a trauma-informed, recovery-centered setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a current Food Handler's Permit, with a preference for 1 year of institutional food service experience. Benefits include health and dental coverage and Paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of institutional food service preparation preferred.
• Possession of a current Food Handler's Permit required.
• Maintain current TB screening and complete First Aid/CPR training when offered and provided by Evergreen Recovery Centers.
• Offer of employment is conditional upon Criminal Background Check from Washington State Patrol and ability to pass post-offer drug test.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook designated or parts of meals for residents, in accordance with a prepared menu.
• Conduct kitchen and dining room cleanup, ensuring cleanliness and proper waste disposal.
• Provide oversight of residents and volunteers during cleanup, ensuring sanitary compliance.
• Oversee dining room supplies and restocking needs; inform Lead Cook of shortages.
• Inspect and accept delivery of meals when Lead Cook is unavailable; monitor temperatures and proper storage.
• Respond to requests for service and inform clinical staff of medical emergencies in the kitchen.
• Attend required trainings and meetings; comply with dietary requirements written by ERC staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
