Duties
Prepares and cooks a variety of menu items and dessert for Food Truck operation to include, but not limited to sandwiches, tacos, gyros, paninis, BBQ and all other items assigned. Operates a full service mobile kitchen and cooks primarily for the food truck. Works with others to roast, broil, bake, fry, broil, steam and stew meats, fish and poultry. Uses ranges, grills, carious types of ovens, deep-fat fryers, steam kettles, broilers, toasters, vegetable steamers, etc. and regulates temperature, time and other controls. Prepares sauces and gravies, bastes food as required, food for cooking or serving by dicing, carving, chopping, grinding, mixing, etc. using hand kitchen tools and powered equipment. Slices meat items by hand conforming to specific size requirements or weight specifications. Prepares and stocks food and resale beverage items on truck for daily sales/operation. Maintains proper temperature for all foods during holding, transporting, reheating and service to assure quality control and food safety. Responsible for the proper use and cleaning of equipment, safety practices, personal hygiene and conformance to food service sanitation requirements. Accountable for analyzing and correcting production problems independently. Coordinates the cooking process for food items assigned and of items prepared by other cooks.

- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to obtain Food Handlers certificate

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience
Must be able to read and understand written and oral instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps. Knowledge of general sanitation principles to safeguard food against spoilage and waste, as well as for cleaning equipment and work area. Skill in organizing work assignments in logical sequence in order to execute tasks quickly and accurately.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
