Responsibilities:

Position Accountabilities/Duties:

  • Sets up patient trays, cafeteria, catered events in accordance with established schedule and procedures.
  • Cleans the kitchen area, cooking utensils, and dishes.
  • Operates dishwasher to ensure all dishes and utensils are clean.
  • Prepares all menu items using standardized recipes.
  • Prepares coffee and urns for food service.
  • Prepares, loads, transports, and cleans food carts.
  • Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
  • Maintains department records, reports, and files as required.
  • Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings.
  • Attends meetings as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • This position does not warrant access to patient records.

Basic UPH Performance Criteria:

  • Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
  • Maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
  • Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, DIA, OSHA, and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
  • Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
  • Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g., Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste, and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Restaurant experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
  • Use of customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position
