General Purpose

As a member of the MillerKnoll Food Service team, you’ll assist with culinary and service with a focus on providing customers an experience where food, service, cleanliness, and surroundings are of exceptional quality. You’ll work with the team to provide an excellent dining experience by contributing to food preparation, attention to detail, and ensuring freshness of products. You’ll match the pace of work, pitching in where needed to ensure smooth functioning of the kitchen, dining services, and facility.

Essential Functions

  • Handle proper rotation of perishable foods to ensure freshness and reduce waste.
  • Assist in planning meals and special events.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen and storeroom.
  • Communicate effectively with the chef regarding departmental concerns.
  • Prepare meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events.
  • Manage stock by putting away and collecting supplies as needed.
  • Use food wisely to minimize waste.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, if assigned to Marigold.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to meet business goals.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED), or relevant work experience demonstrating competency.
  • At least two years of culinary arts experience or five years of restaurant cooking experience.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to lift and move equipment and boxes up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Dependable, cooperative, and able to function well in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to bend, twist, stand for extended periods.
  • Proficiency with office automation and communication tools.
  • Ability to perform all essential functions with or without accommodations.
