Qualifications

  • Experience in cooking for a school/pre-school is a plus.

  • Valid driver's license is required.

About Children of America (COA): We're a special blend of people, principles and pride that makes the COA rich in diversity and strength. Our program serves preschool children 6 weeks-12 years of age. Programs include Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-K, Before and After Care and Summer Camp. Our goal is to serve nutritious, wholesome meals and snacks cooked onsite. We are looking for a part-time cook/food prep who loves to cook healthy, delicious meals that will appeal to the palate of toddlers/children in our care. Who Will you Interact with? In this role you will interact daily with the management team, and teaching staff just to name a few.

Job responsibilities:

  • Serves and prepares snacks and meals in accordance with posted menus
  • Determines meal and snack count and distributes food to each classroom.
  • Removes trays and leftovers from classrooms and disposes accordingly.
  • Performs weekly food and supply inventory; submits list of needed items
  • Orders food and supply items from approved supplier, within budget set by Management.
  • Checks-in supply deliveries to ensure accuracy of order placed.
  • Keeps kitchen, including appliances, cabinets and all inventory, organized and clean.

An ideal candidate will have:

  • Have a love for children & cooking
  • Experience in cooking for a school/pre-school will be a plus but not required, paid training will be provided
  • Strong customer service mindset and work ethic
  • Driver's License
  • High school or equivalent
  • PlanServSage certification is required.
