Sentara Halifax Regional Medical Center is hiring a Cook to work full-time on a rotating schedule. The role involves preparing all hot foods for patient trayline, café, and functions, including entrees, vegetables, starches, and bakery items.

Minimum two years cooking experience in fine dining or healthcare setting is preferred; HS Diploma or equivalent is required and a Food Handlers Card may be required by the local Health Department.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all hot foods for patient trayline, café, and functions including entrees, vegetables, starches and bakery items.

• Works with kitchen staff to manage meal prep and kitchen cleanliness.

Education:

HS Diploma or Equivalent (Required; related experience may be accepted in lieu of diploma)

Certification:

Food Handlers Card (as required by local Health Department).

Experience:

Minimum of two years cooking in fine dining or heatlhcare setting (Preferred)
