Merriam Gardens Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Evening Shift Cook to prepare and serve meals from 12pm to 8pm, ensuring nutritionally appropriate food for residents and adherence to safety guidelines. The role involves following menus, recipes, and regulatory standards to maintain quality.

Responsibilities include menu review, timely meal preparation, and assisting with ordering and storage under supervision, with opportunities for career advancement in food services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• Two years as cook in a large-scale cooking operation, preferred.

• Assists with food ordering, storage and preparation as designated by the supervisor; Prepares food in a timely manner to preserve food quality and serve meal on time.
• Maintains standards for food preparation and quality of food service; uses nutritionally equivalent substitutes when required; Follows standardized recipes.

Evening Shift Cook- 12pm-8pm

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The cook will be responsible for preparing and serving meals according to the menu, monitoring methods of food handling, preparation, meal service, and equipment cleaning. Safely and efficiently provides nutritionally appropriate food to residents for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing their overall health. Ensures the provision of quality food service and nutrition care in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulations.
