Job summary

Elior North America in Olathe, KS is seeking an experienced cook/driver to join the Trio-Community-Meals team. You will cook meals in a fast-paced kitchen and coordinate daily transportation of goods to various sites.

The role emphasizes safe food handling, DOT compliance, and strong customer service as you work with dispatch to meet schedules. A valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to multitask are essential; prior high-volume cooking from scratch is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques, and standards.
• Ability to use a variety of kitchen equipment and identify food items.
• Excellent customer service and attention to detail.
• Minimum 1 year in a high-volume establishment cooking from scratch.
• Valid state driver's license for commercial vehicles with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

We are looking to add an experienced cook/driver to work with a highly motivated and energetic kitchen staff in our Olathe, KS location for our Trio-Community-Meals division. As a cook/driver for Trio-Community-Meals, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, efficient environment, cook delicious meals, and transport a variety of goods to various locations each day. What you'll be doing:

• Performing food preparation and production tasks while following recipes and safe food handling policies and procedures.
• Ensuring proper portion and temperature control and proper storage of leftover food.
• Loading and transporting food products from one location to another according to an assigned schedule.
• Transporting materials to and from assigned destinations in a safe and effective manner, complying with all DOT rules and regulations alongside state and city traffic laws.
• Complete thorough inspections of any utilized company equipment, before and after each trip.
• Keeping open communication with dispatch to ensure notification of any issues or delays on the route.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• Complete knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques, and standards.
• Ability to use a variety of kitchen equipment and tools, as well as to identify and differentiate food items.
• High-level product knowledge and the ability to provide friendly and helpful customer service.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• At least one years’ experience in a high volume establishment with an emphasis on cooking from scratch.
• A valid state driver’s license for [commercial vehicles and/or a medical card from an approved DOT medical examiner].
• An acceptable driving record and excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.

Nice-to-haves:

• Food Handler’s certification.

Compensation Range

20.00 - 22.00 /hour
