Job Overview

Schedule: Part-Time - 0.4 FTE

Shift: Weekends 9:00am-6:00pm

Shriners Children's Chicago has an opportunity for a Part-Time Cook to join our cafeteria team. Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives. Our top healthcare professionals excel in their practices and provide compassionate, family-centered care to children who need it most.Hours:This is a Part-Time position of approximately 16 hours per week, with more hours available based on departmental needs.

The pay range for this position is $21.24 /hour - $26.56/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.

Responsibilities

The position of cook; with dishwashing responsibilities provides for the preparation and distribution of food to patients, visitors and staff of Shriners Hospitals.

Practices Serve Safe Sanitation

  • Sanitation according to the guidelines of Serve Safe is practiced at all times.

Prepares Catering Functions and consistently maintains quality

  • Catering functions are prepared on time and to what the customer has ordered

Prepares patient meals in accordance with specific diets and is prepared at meal time

  • Patient meals are made according to their diet and are ready on time for tray line.

Ensures proper temp of all food served in accordance with state and federal guidelines

  • The temp of our food is at acceptable level according to or policy and procedure manual

  • Tally sheets are followed so that extra food is not left over after tray line.

Prepare cafeteria meals according to specific menu

  • Cafeteria males are done on time. There is sufficient backup so that the café does not run out of food.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 2 Years Institutional Cooking.
  • ServSafe Food Safety Certificate

Preferred:

  • Hospital cooking experience
