Job summary

Sears Holdings Corporation is seeking an experienced In-Home Appliance Service Technician to join Sears Home Services. You will repair a range of home appliances in customers' homes and provide courteous, high-quality service.

This full-time role offers competitive pay, ongoing training, and the support of a nationwide retailer. Flexible scheduling and a strong emphasis on safety and customer satisfaction are key.

Qualifications

• At least 1–2 years of appliance maintenance or repair experience.
• Mechanical knowledge and use of basic tools/test equipment.

• Willingness to work flexible hours including overtime.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Repair appliances in customers' homes, including washers, dryers, stoves, microwaves, dishwashers, and disposals.
• Provide timely, quality repairs and maintain high customer service.
• Promote and sell additional products and services.
• Meet performance metrics and productivity goals.
• Maintain organized and stocked work truck and follow maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements

Job Responsibilities

As a repair technician, you will be responsible for the repair of products in customers’ homes. Products you will repair include the following home appliances: Washers & Dryers, Gas & Electric Stoves, Microwave Ovens, Dishwashers, Trash Compactors, Garbage Disposers, and other home appliances.

Appliance maintenance responsibilities include:

• Providing timely and quality repairs of customers’ products
• Maintaining high-quality customer service and care
• Promoting and selling additional products and services
• Meeting key performance metrics and/or productivity goals
• Providing knowledgeable and courteous repair service
• Looking for ways to improve business performance and enhance the customer experience
• Communicating benefits of the Value Added Services Process to the customer
• Maintaining truck stock inventory within the prescribed company guidelines and standards
• Following the truck maintenance schedule and keeping a clean, organized truck

Qualifications

Job Requirements

As an In-Home Service Technician, you must be highly organized and possess excellent communication skills. We are seeking a dedicated team player who is able to ensure fast, flexible, and expert service to every customer via excellent time management skills.

• At least 1 – 2 years of appliance maintenance or repair technician experience, preferred
• Working mechanical knowledge, including the use of tools and test equipment
• Ability to perform accurate repair of customer product
• Must complete all technician training elements within required timeframes
• Ability to follow directions and specific process steps to ensure quality workmanship
• Flexibility to work variable and flexible hours, including overtime
• Ability to use a computer for parts inquiries and ordering
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
