Cook / Dietary Aide - Full-Time, Every other Weekend, 12pm-8pm shift

Join Saint Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center as a Cook / Dietary Aide. This full-time position offers every other weekend off, with shifts from 12pm to 8pm.

Pay Range

This range is provided by Saint Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience. Talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range: $17.50/hr - $26.00/hr

Job Responsibilities

• Handle, prepare, and store all food according to procedures and safety guidelines.
• Follow established menus using standardized recipes.
• Prepare foods, including altered textures and therapeutic diets, as developed and monitored by the Registered Dietitian.
• Substitute menu items after consulting with the Registered Dietitian.
• Cook and serve foods at proper temperatures and within designated time frames.
• Use food supplies efficiently to prevent waste.
• Operate equipment safely to prevent injuries.
• Prepare appealing meal alternatives to accommodate resident preferences.
• Prepare a la carte menu items as required.
• Prepare special holiday meals per approved recipes.
• Manage time to ensure meals arrive on units within ten minutes of scheduled times.
• Coordinate with dietary staff for timely delivery and retrieval of food trucks and trays.
• Supervise dishwashing to ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
• Maintain clean and safe workspaces according to procedures.
• Communicate with nursing and other departments to maximize resident satisfaction.
• Assist with preparation for regulatory inspections.
• Participate in in-service education and apply learned knowledge.
• Lead a team to accomplish tasks efficiently and productively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One-year experience in institutional food service, healthcare, or hospital setting preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math operations.
• Proficiency in English communication; additional languages are a plus.
• ServSafe Certification preferred or eligibility to obtain it.
