Job summary

Optalis Healthcare in Michigan is seeking a Culinary Team Member to support the preparation, serving, and delivery of meals while maintaining a safe, sanitary kitchen.

You will assist in following menus and recipes, deliver meals to residents, keep kitchen and dining areas clean, rotate stock to minimize waste, and help ensure infection control and regulatory compliance. Strong communication and teamwork are important; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Healthcare kitchen experience preferred.
• Food safety knowledge helpful.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing meals according to menus and standardized recipes.


• Support meal service and tray delivery to residents.


• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, and utensils.


• Store food and supplies properly, rotating stock to minimize waste.


• Follow infection control and food safety policies.


• Assist in maintaining compliance with survey and regulatory requirements.


• Knowledge of food service safety and sanitation.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Preferred:

• Food service or kitchen experience in healthcare setting.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Standing/walking for most of shift; frequent bending and lifting (5--40 lbs).


• Ability to push food carts and work in hot kitchen environment.
