Job summary

West Suburban Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Bloomingdale, IL is seeking an experienced Cook to join our TEAM. The Cook will prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for residents, following dietary restrictions and offering alternatives as needed.

The ideal candidate has some institutional cooking experience, knowledge of food safety, and the ability to work with seniors. You will follow verbal and written instructions, maintain a clean, confidential, and professional work environment, and

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical facility preferred.
• Sanitation certificate required.
• Able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Knowledge of dietary procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with breakfast, lunch, and dinner for residents.

• Maintain sanitation and hygienic practices in all food prep areas.

POSITION SUMMARY:

A Cook prepares and assists with food preparation for breakfast, lunch, and dinner while following specific dietary restrictions and provides alternatives for our residents.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Some experience in institutional cooking.


• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation and hygienic methods.


• Follow verbal and written instructions.
