Base pay range

$21.00/yr - $24.75/yr

Duties
  1. Assist in planning and implementing a food service program following USDA CACFP policies.
  2. Perform food prep and cooking tasks such as cleaning, peeling, slicing, grilling, frying, and baking.
  3. Prepare and cook various foods including meats, seafood, vegetables, and baked goods, following standard recipes.
  4. Coordinate with Food and Nutrition Specialists for menus and food orders.
  5. Assist with training kitchen staff and serve as a resource for youth cooking clubs, following safety procedures.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Require Direct Deposit and Social Security Card.
  • Meet qualification, physical, and background requirements.
  • Have a current health assessment and up-to-date immunizations.
  • Probationary period may be required.
  • Complete annual training and demonstrate competence.
  • May work irregular hours, evenings, or weekends.
  • Pass employment verification (E-Verify).
  • Work involves standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Work in kitchen environments that are hot, noisy, and may involve exposure to steam, fumes, and temperature changes.
Qualifications

At least 6 months of related work experience with kitchen appliances and equipment; ability to communicate in English; able to lift 40 lbs routinely.

Additional Information

The area of consideration is the local area of Fort Jackson, SC, including eligible military spouses and separated military personnel.
