Job summary

The Arbor Company in New Jersey is seeking a Cook who loves creating comforting meals and serving residents. You will prepare meals from established recipes, adapt for diet modifications, and work as part of a supportive kitchen team committed to quality and respect.

You will assist with stock deliveries, maintain sanitation, and coordinate with the Dining Director on prep and service flow. Culinary training or restaurant experience is preferred, with opportunities for growth and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Culinary degree or training or restaurant cooking experience preferred.
• Knowledge of kitchen basics, sanitation, food handling, portion control, and cooking procedures.
• Experience with special diets and long‑term care preferred.
• Large batch cooking experience (100+ people) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide food service and create meals using established recipes and diet modifications.
• Assist with food stock deliveries, rotation of products and regulatory log requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards by following cleaning schedules and protocols.
• Communicate with the Dining Director on prep, production and flow of service.

Education

Culinary degree or training, or experience cooking in a restaurant environment

Kitchen basics, sanitation, food handling, and portion control

Large batch cooking (100+ people)
