Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Cook is to provide high-quality customer service by preparing nutritious and quality food. The Cook leads, supports, and guides team members to maintain food quality standards, inventory levels, portion control, food safety, and customer service expectations. They stay current with culinary trends, use standardized recipes, and prepare appropriate quantities of food to meet menu demands within set time frames. The Cook is familiar with various diets for patients and prepares special meals accordingly. They maintain cooperative relationships with team members, optimize staff productivity, and serve as a replacement in team members' absence. Additional responsibilities include setting up work stations, serving and replenishing food, maintaining HACCP standards, documenting food and equipment temperatures, cleaning and sanitizing work stations and equipment, limiting waste, operating cash registers, understanding modified diet concepts, ensuring timely meal service, warewashing, late meal service, and demonstrating good customer service skills.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal food regulations.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Previous healthcare food & nutrition experience is a plus.
