Cook CD – Skilled

Summary:

The Cook CD - Skilled is responsible for preparing cooked foods and must be able to perform all station functions including Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry, and Egg station. The role involves communicating ticket times and potential issues to the manager on duty and servers as needed. The cook performs other responsibilities as directed by management or the business and provides high-quality service to customers and colleagues at all times. This is a non-exempt position.

Essential Functions:

  1. Follow recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving food items such as soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other products.
  2. Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies and equipment.
  3. Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment.
  4. Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices, complying with HACCP standards.
  5. Operate various kitchen equipment; measure and mix ingredients; wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables.
  6. Stock, date, rotate, and check the temperature of products.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

  1. Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of closely related cooking experience in high-volume or fast-casual dining environments.
  3. Knowledge of sauces, soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry stations.
  4. Ability to speak, read, and understand instructions, policies, and communicate effectively.
  5. Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  6. Ability to bend, twist, and stand for extended periods.
  7. Frequent immersion of hands in water and chemical solutions.
  8. Regular use of sharp knives, utensils, and hot surfaces.
  9. Work in hot environments frequently.
  10. Supervisory or lead experience is preferred.
