Description

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for the preparation and serving of three balanced meals per day for Capps Crisis Stabilization Unit and lunches for Capps Clubhouse Mondays through Fridays. Prepare night and weekend meals in advance as needed. Prepare and serve meals on holidays as needed. Responsible for communicating inventory needs and maintenance problems and needs to the designated staff member in a timely manner. Responsible for ordering food and kitchen/dining supplies.

Job Duties

Keep food preparation, serving and storage area neat and clean, according to the standards of Public Health Department and the Department of Mental Health.

Prepare complete, accurate, and timely reports as required.

Order food and supplies necessary and allowable within annual budget and as approved by Supervisor/Manager/Coordinator and Finance and Accounting Office.

Be responsible for accurate inventory data on a weekly basis, assisting in inventory of all food and food supply items when necessary.

Provide emergency backup for weekend cook, as needed.

Prepare evening and weekend meals in advance, as needed.

Preparation and serving of Holiday meals, as needed.

Check and record consumer conditions such as vital signs and weight.

Administer basic life saving techniques.

Perform or assist in the performance of activities of daily living including but not limited to bathing, shaving, and brushing teeth.

Write nontechnical reports documenting patient behavior, activity, and progress towards habilitation/treatment plan goals.

Direct and participate in recreational and social activities for consumers in accordance with written programs and habilitation plans.

Use appropriate behavioral management techniques when interacting with consumers.

Report promptly for assigned shift and work beyond assigned shift hours including weekends and holidays temporarily, as needed.

Stay awake and alert at all times. Make head count no less than every 15 minutes and document in log.

Notify program manager or other senior staff of any referrals, elopements, acts of aggression or any other problem situation outside the scope of authority of Active Treatment Technician.

Treat individuals receiving services, family members, staff, volunteers, visitors, government agencies, and the general public with respect, dignity, and courtesy at all times. Conduct yourself in a manner which leaves a favorable impression with the public.

Cooperate with your Supervisor/Manager/Coordinator and other Life Help staff members in a manner which insures program efficiency and maximum benefit of services for all program participants.

Adhere to all Department of Mental Health Standards, Division of Medicaid Standards, and maintain respect for all other Life Help policies, procedures, and management decisions.

Respect and uphold the confidentiality of individuals receiving services, their family members, colleagues, and any sensitive situations arising within the agency. Refrain from malicious gossip at all times.

Participate in all training required for your specific position and by the agency at large.

Perform other specific duties as assigned by your Supervisor/Manager/Coordinator.

May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, including TB, AIDS and hepatitis and may be subject to emotionally upset and hostile residents, family members, etc.
