Job summary

Aramark in Boulder, CO is seeking a Cook who loves to cook and experiment with flavors. You’ll work with fresh ingredients and equipment, following production guidelines and safety procedures to bring recipes to life and delight guests.

You will set up stations, prepare ingredients, and operate ovens and knives, while maintaining clean, safe work areas and providing excellent service. This role emphasizes quality, teamwork, and adherence to food safety policies.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role required.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation principles and various cooking methods.
• Demonstrates knowledge of food safety regulations such as sanitation and storage.
• Must be able to acquire food safety certification.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
• Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment.
• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, and cutting food items.
• Safely uses utensils including knives and operates ovens, stoves, and mixers.
• Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses various cooking methods on meats and vegetables.
• Ensures proper portioning, garnishing, and food storage per guidelines.
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas and equipment; maintains customer-friendly demeanor.

Compensation Data

COMPENSATION: The Hourly rate for this position is $20.00 to $22.50. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
• Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
• Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
• Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
• Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
• Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
• Ensures security of company assets

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role required
• Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
• Must be able to acquire food safety certification
• Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
• Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
