Job Summary
As a Cook, you will be integral to the preparation of menu items and the smooth functioning of daily kitchen operations. Your responsibilities include maintaining kitchen equipment, monitoring inventory levels, and upholding safety policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute cooking methods efficiently as part of the line staff, ensuring timeliness and product quality.
- Demonstrate strong work ethic, technique, and teamwork; assist others when needed.
- Follow standardized recipes and instructions from supervisors.
- Determine proper cooking times, temperatures, and methods.
- Assist in other departments as needed based on business levels.
- Attend training and meetings; suggest improvements.
- Maintain safety and sanitation standards per regulations.
- Properly store and rotate inventory to prevent loss.
- Prepare station for the next day.
- Be knowledgeable about guest services, activities, and dining options.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Comply with company policies and perform weekly deep cleaning.
- Dispose of trash properly.
- Maintain a labeled, organized cooler.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Relevant culinary qualifications and experience in a hotel, resort, or quality restaurant.
- Experience in similar properties preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in basic English.
- ServSafe certification (can be obtained after employment).
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and under pressure.
- Good teamwork skills.
- Maintain personal cleanliness.
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, sanitation, and proper food storage.
- Proficient and safe use of sharp knives.
