Salary: $18.01 - $24.84 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Summary

Prepares, cooks, bakes, and cleans up meals for patients, employees, and special events, performing the following duties:

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  1. Checks and verifies patient count and correct diet when in job classification.
  2. Reviews daily menus and determines food quantities needed.
  3. Prepares food in sufficient quantities, timing to meet schedules per recipes.
  4. Maintains quality standards, portion control, and sanitation standards.
  5. Reviews menus for baked goods, salads, desserts; prepares accordingly.
  6. Assists on tray line, serves salads and desserts as needed.
  7. Bakes cookies, cakes, breads, and other items as requested.
  8. Operates dishwashing machine safely and efficiently.
  9. Sets up meal trays, assists on tray line, understands patient diet orders.
  10. Assists customers at serving line and cash register.
  11. Maintains cleanliness of dining room, kitchen, and dish room.
  12. Supports organizational policies and standards for accreditation.
Qualifications

High school diploma required. Food service experience and knowledge of sanitation preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided.

Skills
  • Ability to read, write, and present information effectively.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Ability to follow instructions and handle problems with common sense.
Physical Demands

Must be able to stand, handle, talk, hear, taste, smell, walk, reach, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform physical tasks as described.

Work Environment

Exposure to humidity, mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals; moderate noise level. Accommodations available for disabilities.
