Job description

Overview

The Cook is responsible for the preparation of food for all meals for participants and staff at the Overnight Camp facility or other assigned area.

Schedule:
  • Location: YMCA Camp Marston
  • Morning shift from 5:30AM - 2:00PM (Flexible Schedule)
  • Night shift from 12:30PM - 9:00PM (Flexible Schedule)
Responsibilities
  • Prepares meals by following set recipes, measuring and mixing ingredients using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Ensures compliance with proper food handling techniques and safety procedures.
  • Tests food being prepared by tasting, smelling, and piercing with a fork to ensure proper cooking before serving.
  • Maintains a clean workspace and complies with health and safety codes.
  • May bake bread, rolls, cakes, and pastries.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 3 months of food service experience required.
  • Food Handler Certification required prior to first shift.
  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager or NAVMed Food Safety Supervisor certification.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (Adult and Child/Infant) obtained within 30 days of hire from organizations such as the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or American Safety & Health Institute.

Pay Range
