JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State is searching for a full time Cook B (Behrend) - Grade 8 to join the team. Duties include:
  • Prepare, combine, season, and/or cook food served in university dining halls according to standardized recipes, methods and/or procedures
  • Make advance preparation for food items as required
  • Perform necessary operations to prepare food items, utilizing the proper food production equipment
  • Dispose of leftovers as directed
  • Maintain clean work area and ensure general cleanliness of equipment
  • Follow cleaning schedules as established in the work unit
  • Assist cook a in preparing and cooking several types of foods as directed, utilizing the proper food preparation equipment
  • Check equipment to ensure proper working conditions and cleanliness; report malfunctions
  • Ensure that menu items for the serving lines are maintained at proper temperature and freshness and that adequate amounts are available for students and guests
  • Perform other duties related or similar to the type described above

Work Schedule: 11:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Days Off: Thursday, Friday

9 to 12 months of effective experience
