Overview

Great Plains Health is hiring a Cook in North Platte, NE. The Cook is responsible for the preparation and service of all hot food, cold food, salads, and baked goods for a variety of diets for patients, employees and visitors.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares and cooks to order foods requiring short preparation time and reads food orders or verbal instructions to determine items to prepare.
  • Assembles and serves foods according to recipes, product directions, and customer needs.
  • Performs fast food-style cooking duties to prepare items for served customers and ensures the highest quality of service at all times.
  • Follows basic recipes and procedures for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other items for consumption.
  • Operates kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, shred fruits and vegetables, and trim and cut meat, poultry or fish.
  • Estimates food requirements, checks production, maintains records, and requisitions supplies and equipment to plan production.
  • May select recipes per menu cycle, prepare bakery items, receive inventory, move and lift foodstuffs and supplies, and prepare meals for customers requiring special diets.
  • May clean and sanitize work stations and equipment and follow regulatory rules and procedures.
