Position Summary

The cook is responsible for preparing all meal items according to the menu, resident preferences, and diets, ensuring adherence to quality and safety policies during production.

Qualifications
  • Must have a ROCKSTAR attitude
  • Ability to read, write, speak English effectively, and follow instructions
  • Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygiene
  • Food Safety Manager Certification required within 30 days of hire
  • Preferred: 1+ year of cooking experience in a healthcare setting or healthcare kitchen
  • Ability to follow recipes, use basic math, and lead in the absence of the Director of Food & Nutrition Services
Essential Functions
  • Prepare food according to menus, diets, and tray cards
  • Perform sanitation duties in compliance with policies, including cleaning and equipment maintenance
  • Manage food ordering, receiving, storing, preparing, and serving processes
  • Operate equipment safely and report repairs
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas
  • Maintain regular attendance
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, families, and team members
  • Follow dress code and workplace behavior policies
  • Perform other duties as needed
Physical Requirements

Capable of pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, and reaching, with or without accommodations.

Work Schedule

Includes some weekends, evenings, and holidays; non-exempt position.
