Position Summary

The cook is responsible for preparing all meal items according to the menu, resident preferences, and dietary requirements, ensuring compliance with quality and safety policies during production.

Qualifications
  • Must have a ROCKSTAR attitude
  • Ability to read, write, speak English effectively, and follow instructions
  • Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygiene
  • Food Safety Manager Certification required within 30 days of hire
  • One year of cooking experience in healthcare preferred; healthcare kitchen experience considered
  • Ability to follow recipes, perform basic math, and lead in absence of the Director of Food & Nutrition Services
Essential Functions
  • Prepare food per menus, diets, and tray cards
  • Perform sanitation duties following policies, including cleaning with PPE
  • Manage food ordering, storage, preparation, and service processes
  • Operate equipment safely and report repairs
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas
  • Adhere to attendance policies
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, families, and colleagues
  • Follow dress code and workplace behavior standards
  • Perform additional duties as needed
Physical Requirements

Ability to push, pull, lift up to 50 pounds, bend, kneel, reach, with or without accommodations

Work Schedule

As assigned, including weekends, evenings, holidays; non-exempt position
