Job Overview

Become a Cook Assistant and contribute to providing nutritious meals for children in our Early Childhood Program. Support the Cook in meal preparation, ensuring compliance with USDA and CACFP guidelines, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist with meal preparation, setup, and cleanup for breakfast, lunch, and snacks
  2. Ensure food safety and sanitation compliance
  3. Receive and inspect food deliveries for accuracy and quality
  4. Maintain kitchen inventory and supplies
  5. Support nutrition activities engaging children and families
  6. Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development
Qualifications
  1. High school diploma
  2. Food Handlers Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
  3. Basic computer skills for email and communication
  4. Knowledge of food safety and nutrition regulations
  5. Ability to prepare large quantities of food in a fast-paced setting
  6. Strong teamwork and organizational skills
