Job summary

Child-Parent Centers, Inc. seeks an entry-level Cook Assistant Custodian for our Head Start center in Tucson, AZ. This 40-hour role (M-F, in-person) supports the cook with meal prep, CACFP compliance, food orders, and kitchen cleanup.

Expect a home-like, semi-commercial kitchen environment, with duties spanning classrooms, restrooms, and outdoor spaces. Evening or weekend work may be required for events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Experience in food service preferred.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• AZ Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance required.
• Able to pass a company paid physical exam and background check.
• Food Safety Manager/Handler certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist cook with meal preparation and ordering.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation and CACFP compliance.
• Clean classrooms, kitchen, restrooms, and offices.
• Prepare playground spaces for outdoor playtime.
• Maintain daily snack records and inventory.
• Assist with inventory and supply orders.
• Lead food service tasks as needed and support center team.
