Job Description

Range of Pay: $ per hour + $.25 shift premium

Shift: 2

Position Summary: The primary functions of this position are to clean, set up, and assemble kitchen equipment, form and cook batches of filling, shred cheese, chill filling, complete appropriate documentation as needed, and ensure filling is produced in a timely manner for production. The cook assistant must be HACCP trained, document HACCP times and temperatures, and assist with inventories and housekeeping.

Position Responsibilities
  1. Weigh out and manually add flavorings, spices, and other ingredients to the cooker according to the recipe.
  2. Operate cheese grinder to grind cheese as per recipe, fill gondolas with ground cheese, cover, and label.
  3. Obtain and fill containers, vats, or tubs of meat, beans, cheese, and other ingredients, then move to the cook station as needed.
  4. Transport full gondolas to cooler or cook station as required.
  5. Position finished product in the chiller, add chilling mixture, and transport batches to cooler storage. Complete CCP1 & CCP2 HACCP documentation.
  6. Obtain pallets of cheese blocks, transport to grinding station, and manually cut into sections.
  7. Prepare for operations by checking tools, equipment, and recipe requirements.
  8. Obtain work schedule and paperwork, and prepare for the shift.
  9. Manually bucket product into gondolas for cooling or cooking as needed.
  10. At shift end, clean and secure all equipment, perform housekeeping duties, and complete paperwork.

  1. Ability to operate or learn to operate job-related equipment and tools.
  2. Ability to perform all job functions safely.
  3. Meet company standards for the role.
  4. Follow instructions accurately.
  5. Understand and follow all written SSOPs and MSDS.
  6. Work scheduled hours and overtime as required.
  7. Stand and walk for extended periods.
  8. Lift up to 50 lbs.
