Description
Primary Responsibilities

The Cook ensures that resident meals are properly prepared and apportioned according to diet specifications, facility procedures, and dietary and sanitary regulations.

Essential Functions
  • Prepare food items on assigned menus
  • Maintain sanitation of equipment, utensils, work areas, storage, and serving areas
  • Follow proper food handling procedures
Qualifications
Educational/Training Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Licensing Requirements
  • Texas Food Handler Certificate preferred
Experience Requirements
  • Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygiene
  • Knowledge of Universal Precautions and hazardous waste regulations
  • Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
