Job description

Upon being hired for this position, you will enter a Probationary status, working up to 40 hours per week.
Upon completion of the probationary period, you could become benefit eligible.

Essential Duties:

1. The Cook 5 creates and prepares chef specials.
2. Efficiently works any station while maintaining productivity.

Requirements:

1. Ability to plan daily work based on general instructions from the supervisor.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of product utilization, stock rotation, food cost, and waste control.
3. Must demonstrate initiative and creativity.
4. Superior knife handling abilities.
5. Maintain standards listed below.

Qualifications:

1. Four years of experience in a restaurant specializing in continental or classical cuisine, for a total of ten years experience.
2. Must meet requirements for Cook3 and Cook4.

1. Maintain an upbeat attitude and a positive, enthusiastic mindset.
2. Greet guests, employees, managers, and supervisors with a warm smile and friendly demeanor.
3. Always treat everyone with respect and work cooperatively with all colleagues and management.
4. Report to work as scheduled and on time.

Dining Experiences:

Rockefeller Room: The Inn's signature dining experience, the Rockefeller Room, celebrates contemporary fine dining and pays homage to the evolution of American cuisine, while maintaining its elegant Regency style. Oysters are, of course, a must and Southern tradition is artfully injected throughout the menu. Current Menu is Prix Fixe Menu, a la carte is not available.

The Terrace and Goodwin Rooms: Relaxed yet luxurious, The Terrace and Goodwin Rooms retain The Williamsburg Inn's charm and sophistication while serving up contemporary expressions of American classics. At breakfast in the Terrace Room or Goodwin Room, enjoy Chef's morning amuse-bouche to jumpstart your day, followed by a two-course prix-fixe menu featuring new creative dishes and showcasing signatures such as the Tidewater Omelet with Chesapeake blue crab and the Goodwin Benedict with Virginia ham.
