Job summary

Hotel Bel Air is seeking a Cook 3 to join our luxury kitchen team. You will prepare, plate and garnish meals, while maintaining strict portion controls and spearheading food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail is critical for this role.
• Communication is essential to keep departments running smoothly with a strong customer service focus.
• English is the primary language used in our hotel; comfortable communication in English is expected.
• Ability to adapt to varied schedules and hotel operations is important.
• Culinary schooling is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Cook and plate dishes with consistent portion control.
• Wash, cut, season and prepare ingredients for cooking.
• Plate and garnish dishes to ensure the guest experience is exceptional.
• Maintain food safety standards and keep the kitchen clean for the next shift.
• Fulfill guest dietary requests and special occasions when possible.
• Work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays.

As a Cook 3 your compensation will be $ 33.83 per hour.

What you'll do

You’ll love what you do and take pride in delighting our guests:

• You will be responsible for cooking, while considering portion control to ensure consistency during their day. In addition, they will wash, cut and season in preparation for cooking. This will also include plating and garnishing with all dishes to ensure our guests receives nothing but the best experience. Our Cook 3’s wash and sanitize the kitchen to prepare for the next shifts and keep to the Food and Health Safety standards to ensure our guests receive nothing but the best experience.
• You’ll also have special requests sometimes from our guests involving dietary restrictions, allergies and even special occasions. Most of these requests are fulfilled by our Cook 3’s.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and stand for up to 8 hours. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, use hand, finger and wrist dexterity. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee occasionally works in a very warm environment, so must be able to withstand all weather conditions.
• Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel.
