Summary

Responsible for mastering skills across all culinary stations within the assigned venue and monitoring food preparation during shifts to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Prepare, season, finish, and garnish food according to recipes.
  2. Assist, in the absence of the Sous Chef, with quality and consistency checks.
  3. Inspect refrigeration and dry storage for proper handling and rotation.
  4. Ensure stations are clean and food items are properly stored at shift end.
  5. Follow all recipes, specifications, and control procedures.
  6. Maintain a clean, sanitary work area in accordance with health regulations.
  7. Maintain professional grooming and appearance, acting as a role model.
  8. Assist guests with special requests.
  9. Serve as expediter when the Sous-Chef is absent.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervise Cooks 1 and 2.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred; culinary degree or apprenticeship preferred.
  • 2-3 years related experience.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Requires a Level 4 Gaming License.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manuals and instructions.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Reasoning ability to apply common sense to various situations.
Physical and Work Environment

Requires physical activity such as lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, and working around mechanical parts. The environment includes moderate noise, slippery surfaces, and smoky conditions typical of a casino setting.
