Responsibilities
  1. Ensure safe, efficient food production, maintaining quality, quantity, and proper storage, including stations like expo, broiler, sauté, salads, appetizers, roasting, baking, stir frying, deep frying, poaching, braising, etc.
  2. Assist with setup and operation of multiple stations; coach Cook Level III for cross-utilization and upward mobility.
  3. Prepare stocks, soups, and sauces for daily service.
  4. Follow SOPs and production lists to meet par levels and specifications.
  5. Know emergency procedures.
  6. Communicate regularly with the supervising chef, maintain equipment and cleanliness, and report issues immediately.
  7. Work efficiently with team members in any kitchen environment.
  8. Provide excellent customer service and positive communication with patrons and coworkers.
  9. Perform duties safely, report hazards, and adapt to additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; college or Culinary Arts degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of casual dining experience with recipe production, plating, and coordination in a high-volume setting.
  • Intermediate cooking experience with knowledge of kitchen equipment; Serve-safe certification preferred.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Ability to tolerate smoke, noise, bright lights.
  • Work quickly in crowded/noisy environments.
  • Maintain professional appearance.
  • Availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., push/pull 150-250 lbs., and work in temperatures from -10°F to 140°F.
  • Good vision and physical ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and handle heat and equipment.
